Pea Gravel Pebbles For Sale In NJ/NY: Driveways, Playgrounds, & Patios

Pea GravelPea Gravel has a lot of really great uses.  In this post I'll go over a few of the common uses for pea gravel (sometimes know as pea stones, pea pebbles, and pea stones).

Pea Gravel's most popular size is 3/8", but it's available in a few other sizes.  We deliver bulk pea gravel to all of Bergen County and Passaic County in Northern NJ and Rockland County in NY.  Call us with any questions you may have regarding using pea gravel.  We're here to help!

Now, let's get into the 3 basic types uses of pea gravel.

Pea Gravel Driveways

Pea gravel is a green, eco-friendly alternative to traditional concrete or asphalt drives. As a full service contractor, we can tell you the cost is much less than concrete. Pea gravel looks natural, contours to follow any path through a landscape, helps minimize soil erosion and costs very little to repair compared to concrete. Best of all installation, does not require any heavy or expensive specialty equipment, making the installation of a pea gravel driveway a sound choice for cost-conscious do-it-yourselfers.

Pea Gravel Playgrounds

Pea Gravel is a playground safety surface composed of uniformly graded and washed gravel with a particle size of approximately 3/16 - 3/8".  Pea Gravel will not break down like playground mulch wood chips, so you'll have to replace it less often.  Pea Gravel meets safety standards for the prevention of head injuries but greater depths of this material are need when compared to other safety surface options.  The compaction rate of this material can be compromised by humidity and freezing conditions. This product is not ASTM Certified and it is not certified by the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Pea Gravel Patios

Creating a pea gravel patio is a relatively easy way to make an outdoor space without having to build a wood structure or pour concrete. Pea gravel can be purchased relatively cheaply. Depending on the area you are going to cover, this method will probably be much cheaper than installing other types of patios. Pea gravel is easy to maintain, and it is also simple to remove if you decide to change to another type of patio later.
